What happened to my dog, and will he be alright?
Ok, so tonight, I was feeding my dog, when he suddenly ran up stairs, then he tumbled back down. Once he fell down, his leg was twitching, and he was panting. He kept one leg in the air when he was walking. I got him to sit, and then I called my parents, who were at my brothers soccer practice. Once they got home, he was able to stand up fine, with his leg on the ground. He is fine now, and acting like nothing happened. This is the first time this has happened. He has been wagging his tail, and acting normal. What happened?
Most likely twisted or pulled something. Keep an eye on it, if it swells for long periods, bring him in because it may be a small crack or fracture that doesn’t bug him at the moment. I’ve had it happen more than once. Dogs jumping from couches, hay bails, tall trucks.
