Which soccer ball should I get?
I am currently a big fan of the world cup, and have been watching pretty much every single game. I am 13 and like to play soccer alot with my neighbors. I would really like to get the “official” Fifa 2010 South Africa World Cup ball. I have done lots of research on the different kinds of replica balls for cheaper prices, because I currently have 50 dollars, and it will take some time to build up my money on mowing lawns to get 150$. My question is: is it worth it to wait until i save up enough money to buy the “official” ball, or should I get a Replica, “match ball” for $50? Also, since I won’t be having the ball on display, and will actually be using it, is the World Cup ball durable, or is it meant for show?
Th official balls are extremely durable. I have seen some of them last up to 5 years under continued use. But, the match balls are also “official” for use and are of very high quality. For the price of one ball you could get three that would hold up just as well. The glider balls are good for practicing but you can expect to have to replace them within a year or two at the most under continual use.
As with most things you get what you pay for, the materials used and the way match balls are made as compared to glider balls is very different. I would go with the match balls if you want one or two to use.
